Here are some of the questions that you can consider in writing your reflections.
1. Do a short write-up about the game/match that you watch (along with pictures taken). Link it with one of the YOG values ( Excellence, Respect and Friendship). Share with your schoolmates why the YOG values are important for students in school.
2. If you are school team player, how can you improve your skills based on what you have observed during the games so that you can better prepare yourself for next year’s Inter-School Competition?
3. What values have you learnt by watching the athletes in competition? Eg Athletes shaking hands after the match/game.
4. Teamwork is more important than a talented individual in a team game, Describe any incident that you have observed that reflects this statement.
5. Admitting defeat is showing Sportsmanship. Why do you think this is important to an athlete after watching any one of the games?
6. How were you inspired to take up a sport as part of a healthy lifestyle after watching any one of the games?

My YOG experience and reflection
My Experience At the NE Show!
My experience from watching the YOG
I think it is important to know the YOG values because everyone has to respect each other to make friends with each other and give their best shot in the games. I may not be a school team player in the school as there is no table tennis sport there. But I can improve my table tennis skills and play against my friends and win them. I have learnt that although the athletes lost in their match but I think that they had learnt how to have perseverance and team spirit to win the match.
I had discovered when Clarence Chew played the table tennis match with other players, he would persevere and look for his opponent’s weak point. I love that attitude!! I think that they should watch the other matches as they can learn how other people play as they can learn some values from them.
I am inspired to take up some sports to take it as an exercise and learn some core values from the sports.
My experience at the Closing Ceremony for the Youth Olympic Games 2010
luckily i managed to take a photo of the flame before it went off!
I also took many photos of the different places there such as the sky garden
and the double helix bridge when i was walking through it
later i took a photo with a board with the pictures of lyo and merly
I also took some photos of the fire works after that we were so tired that we only had 1 curry puff for dinner!
We went home tired and sleepy and we slept very soundly that night!
My experience at YOG-Volleyball
Apart from taekwondo, the basketball and netball were really exciting! I also got a chance to watch volleyball live at Toa Payoh Sports Hall. The weather was very hot while we queue up anxiously to enter the sports hall. When we were entering the hall,I felt the air-con blow against my face. There were cheering and shouting while we made our way to our seat. Finally the game started. Everyone was focusing on the game and when there is a score, the audience cheers. Of course, we were extremely excited and loud cheering for the Singapore Team when they scored. Even thou the Singapore team did not win at the end, we are still happy that we are there to cheer them on.
The YOG has finally come to a closure on 26 August 2010. The closing ceremony was not as spectucular as the opening which should not be. This event is truly a great experience for our young athelete. Singapore wasn’t the champion but ,I am still proud of Team Singapore as they had tried their best. We manage to come in 2nd and 3rd for some sports. Nevertheless, it is a learning experience for all with good memory too.
My reflections for YOG 2010
When I saw the gymnasts doing their warm ups,I knew that they tried hard.
They showed the olympic values (Excellence, Respect and Friendship).Even though they didn’t win, they did try their best.26 August was the Closing Ceremony and I watched it on Channel 5. The athletes all tried their best to do a part for their country.Rather than thinking of winning and losing, they got experience of taking part in the YOG.
The 3 countries are: 1st:China 2nd:Russia 3rd:The Republic of Korea which is South Korea. The other 203 countries lost but they will have a memory of being in Singapore.Singapore was in the 62th place. But all the Youth in Singapore had tried their best. Some even skipped their A’levels for this. This shows how much they want to play a part for Singapore. If they can, you can too.

our trip to the bishan stadium
On 182010, we went to Bishan Stadium and watch athletics and long jump for 2 hours and it was very boring because we could not drink and eat outside food in the stadium. Some of us were very hungry and some of us were very thirsty. After we watched finish, it started to rain and all of us got wet in the end.
My experience at the NE show
later, sezairi sezali and syvia ratonel the Singapore idols were singing on the stage.later, the army tanks came marching, Was dumbfounded when the army tanks were carrying washing machines!
At about 8 to 9 pm,everyone started to recite the pledge and started singing the national anthem ,then Corinne May sang this year`s theme song ”SONG FOR SINGAPORE”and Kit Chan sang”HOME” We also sang more songs like”STAND UP FOR SINGAPORE” and many more!!!!!
I will tell you that the fire works were AWESOME!!!!!Once we got on the bus , I dozed off immediately throughout the journey,to school. This was the most cool, thrilling and the best NE show I ever had in my whole life!!!!!!!!!!Well got to go BYE!!!!!!
My Experience at the NE show!
Firstly, i saw rec lions jumping out a helicopter,fifty-feet away from the ground.I had a great view of them as the helicopter was right on top of me! Next the army vehicles came in.I was lucky as i was sitting beside the entrance of the vehicles.there were lots of vehicles.Sure i did not know the names of the army vehicles but they sure were intresting!
Then, the prim minister arrived.we all stood up and waved to him.He waved at us back. Some were lucky as they could shake hands with him.But i did not manage to shake hands with him. After that, the singing of the national day songs started.I sang along as i love the songs and love to sing them.
Then, the dancing stated. The dancers were really amazing.I loved the part where the dancers danced their way to form the singapore flag. After that, everyone raised up to sing the national anthem. That’s all i’ve got to say!I hope you al enjoyed reading my post!THANK YOU!
“I will not let/allow anything/anyone to take away my joy and peace”
What are the things/situation that will affect my mood/feelings? Even if these things do happen, how will it affect my joy and peace?
What does our joy and peace depend on?
As much as we cannot control whatever that happens around us ( ie our external environment), we are definitely in control of our own response towards them. Do we choose to complain, grumble, cry about it, or do we choose to accept it and move on?
Can we still give thanks and appreciate what we have despite the dire/negative/undesirable circumstances that we may be in?
My experience At the NE Show
Iwas surprised that all the people there know the song I Got A feeling. My friend Brandon started to sing like a girl. The fire works were nice.
THE BEST PART WAS THE BUS WE WERE SINGING IN THE BUS.
My Experience At The NE Show
The part i loved the most was the exploding fireworks! It was so beautiful and colourful!the red lions were jumping down from a helicopter and it was so scary! i wish i could do that. but i am not brave enough to do that scary jump!anyway, the hosts were Gumit Singh,Michelle Chia, Suhaimi and somebody that i did notknw. so, as i was saying,as the red lions were slowly coming down, they did some tricks i that i could not recall.never mind.
let me see…………..i played with my friends while waiting for the show to officially start, and they were andy, dion, elvis and chunyu. we played and laughed like mad and the teacher had to call us to stop what we were doing. well, i am running out time. i will end it here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bye bye……………………………………………………………………………………………………
My Experience At The NE Show
Then soon…we left school and headed for the Padang. Then…Wen we reached,we walked towards our seats.when we setteled down…around 20mins later,we were told to take out our rain coats as we were told that there might be rain.
It was around 6.30.p.mwe were entertained by the hosts Michelle Chia,Gurmit Singh,Suhaimi and one more girl that i m not so sure what her name was.
Soon, there was a performance by the Red Lions. They were free faling from over 10 feet above us…

Red Lions
Next there were ots of dancing and singing performances…some were sung by Sezairi Sezali and Sylvia Ratonel. They were absolutely awsome!!!!
Then, they started to tell us the meaning of the pledge and the flag’s colour. They also showed a performance by many different races. Soon…The Prime Minister Lee Hsien Long and President S.R Naden arrived. Then they showed the parade comander asking the President if he could have the permission to start the parade…
Once the President gave him the go head sign…he started shouting all the commands and then the started to march all around the place in a very harmonious and proud manner.
Then after all the important defence of Singapore was done with their performances..The Parade commander…asked if he could get his cedets to march out…Then he gave him the go ead sign again and then theyall mrched out..when isaw that… felt really proud of Singapore. Such a small country could achieve so much.
Every body standed up and sang ‘Stand up for Singapore’. it was a very wonderful show…altoug i could not remember much as it was quite some time ago…that was all that i could remember…Last but not least i would like to say that i am proud of my country….
